Your Right to Delete Your Data

At HacoSocial, we respect your right to control your personal data. You can request deletion of your data at any time. This page explains how to delete your data and what happens when you do.

What Data Can Be Deleted?

When you request data deletion, we will delete:

  • Your account information (name, email, password)
  • Your profile information (bio, location, profile pictures)
  • All posts you've created
  • All comments and replies you've made
  • Your likes and interactions
  • Your follower/following relationships
  • Your saved posts
  • Your notification history
  • Your activity logs

How to Delete Your Data

Important: Data deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Please make sure you want to proceed before requesting deletion.

Method 1: Delete Through Your Account Settings

If you have an active account:

  1. Log in to your HacoSocial account
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Scroll down to the Danger Zone section
  4. Click on "Delete Account"
  5. Confirm your decision
  6. Your account and all associated data will be deleted immediately

Method 2: Request Deletion via Email

If you can't access your account or prefer email:

  1. Send an email to: socialhaco@gmail.com
  2. Use the subject line: "Data Deletion Request"
  3. Include the following information:
    • Your full name
    • Your email address associated with your account
    • If you signed in with Google/Facebook, mention that
    • A clear statement that you want to delete your data
  4. We will process your request within 30 days
  5. You will receive a confirmation email once deletion is complete

Method 3: For OAuth Users (Google)

If you signed in using Google:

  1. You can revoke access from Google settings:
  2. Then follow Method 1 or Method 2 above to delete your HacoSocial data

What Happens After Deletion?

Immediate Effects:

  • Your account will be permanently deactivated
  • Your profile will no longer be visible to other users
  • You will not be able to log in
  • All your posts and comments will be removed

Data Retention:

We may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes:

  • Legal compliance: Data needed for tax, legal, or regulatory requirements
  • Security: Information related to security incidents or fraud prevention
  • Backup systems: Data may remain in backup systems for up to 90 days
  • Aggregated data: Anonymized, non-personal statistics may be retained

Account deactivated, profile hidden
24 hours:
All user-facing content removed
30 days:
Complete data deletion from active systems
90 days:
Removal from backup systems

Alternatives to Deletion

If you're not sure about permanent deletion, consider these alternatives:

  • Take a break: Simply log out and come back later
  • Edit your profile: Remove personal information from your bio
  • Delete individual posts: Remove specific content instead of everything
  • Unfollow users: Customize your feed without deleting your account
